Cryptocurrencies are a relatively new asset class, but with AvaTrade, you can buy and sell six different cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, and Ripple.

Account Types

AvaTrade offers two primary options when opening an account, a demo account or a standard trading account. Demo accounts uses fake money and are designed to help people master the art of trading. Those who open demo accounts will be given $100,000 in virtual money to trade however they choose, allowing users to learn from their mistakes as well as successes.

The AvaTrading standard trading account requires actual money and is not a learning tool. It is a real trading platform with a minimum deposit required in one of four different currencies:  US dollar, the euro, the Australian dollar, and the pound sterling. The minimum deposit is one hundred units of any of these currencies. Fees, Deposits, and Withdrawals

AvaTrade does not take a standard commission on trades like some other online brokers do. Instead, they charge by the spread. This fee varies depending on the particular asset being bought and sold, but they typically range from 0.4 to 4. These fees are slightly higher than industry standards.

Although AvaTrade’s spread fees are slightly higher than average, the site does not charge for deposits or withdrawals. So, you will be able to put your money in, or take it out for free. This is a benefit of the site, because some brokers charge money for this. If you leave your account inactive for more than three months, then you will be charged an inactivity fee of 25 GBP. So, it pays to stay active on the site.
